Haywire Pinot Gris Switchback Vineyard Raised in Concrete 2011

Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 'silver' label is a select portion of the Haywire Vineyard that is fermented in concrete eggs. The nose is a delicate mix of slate, pear, floral, waxy, grassy, light mango aromas. The attack is fresh and juicy, if a touch austere, but with a fine creamy, chalky palate flecked with more green apple skin, grapefruit rind, pear, pea shoot, grass and honey flavours. Good finesse and fruit in a feed-me, less pinot gris and more Okanagan, food style white.Tasted: 15 October 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
