Champagne Gosset Grande Reserve Brut NV

Champagne, FranceFounded in Aÿ in 1584 by Pierre Gosset, Champagne Gosset is the oldest wine house in Champagne. For 17 generations Gosset was family owned, but in 1993 it was sold to the Cointreau family from Charente, owners of Frappin Cognac. Their flagship Grande Reserve Brut is sourced from primarily north facing sites in Aÿ, Bouzy, Ambonnay, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger (all GC's) and Villers-Marmery (1er Cru) and blends 45/45/10 Chardonnay / Pinot Noir / Pinot Meunier, with 15% reserve wines. This base year 2019 was disgorged in summer 2023 with 8 g/L. Perfumed white cherry, oats, red apple is scented with light toast, and cored with meringue. There's a lovely lemon brace which tightens the finish. Very smart and very friendly.Tasted: 20 November 2024Tasted by: Prices:
