Wolf Blass Gold Label Chardonnay 2011

Adelaide Hills, Mount Lofty Ranges, Adelaide, South Australia, AustraliaWonderfully refreshing and vibrant with a big bright fresh, green apple and smoky grapefruit nose. The palate is a mix of citrus butter and creamy, cool white fruit flavours. The fruit is sourced from high altitude vineyards in the Adelaide Hills and it is handled with little fanfare at the winery spending six months in 30 per cent new French oak. The remainder is a mix of seasoned French oak. A portion of the wine goes through malolactic fermentation but it remains taut and elegant throughout. Veal scaloppini is recommended by the winery; our choice is oven roasted quail.Tasted: 23 September 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
