Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesThe 2010 FC chardonnay continues its skin-ification or electrification using a mix of 60 lots of fruit from the Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley and Carneros. Only 25 percent new French oak helps to reveal the bright orange blossom and baked pear notes that permeate the nose and palate with a pinch of bread dough and citrus to complex the mouthfeel. The textures are creamy, the flavours are ripe and bright and it all screams for food. Halibut anyone?
