Tahbilk Eric Stevens Purbrick Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Victoria, AustraliaThe Tahbilk 'Eric Stevens Purbrick' is cabernet sauvignon that is selected from the finest casks of the estate from a particular vintage. The estate fruit is now over 60 years old and the wine is fermented in 100-year old plus open oak vats before it is further aged in oak barriques and then bottle. The wine opens with an intense mix of spice and cedar and resin mixed with black fruits and a strong undercurrent of earth. The finish is long, smooth, firm and dry but with a fair bit of tannin to disperse. Best now with a leg of lamb.Tasted: 09 July 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
