Chapel Hill The Vicar Shiraz 2008
McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaThe Vicar is the top of the line at Chapel Hill. Expect intense spicy, savoury, floral, blueberry jam aromas with vanilla, pepper, bacon and coffee flecks throughout. So ripe and smooth and warm on the palate but juicy with light tannins. Big spicy, liquorice, coffee, vanilla, peppery, savoury, prune, blackberry jam, briar, garrigue, curry and light barnyard flavours. Good concentration of fruit, if alcoholic and somewhat oaky now. Needs another two to four years to smooth out. Try it with roasted leg of lamb.Tasted: 02 July 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $55.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Appellation Wine Marketing |
