Barone Ricasoli Colledila Chianti Classico 2007
Tuscany, ItalyColledila ("the hill on the other side") describes that vineyard you can see but can't get to save for a 30 minute drive. This is a no holds barred gamey, coffee, saddle leather nose sprayed with black cherry jam, menthol and vanilla highlights. The attack is round and smooth; the fruit ripe and elegant with silky smooth tannins. Coffee, liquorice, tobacco, saddle leather, meaty, medicinal, savoury, warm chocolate, cherry compote flavours coat your palate. All in all a warm and rustic red but well balanced. Should hold or improve over the next 2-4 years. Try this with lamb osso buco.Tasted: 02 July 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $75.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Pacific Wine and Spirits |
