Re Manfredi Aglianico del Vulture 2007
Basilicata, ItalySmoky, meaty, ash, liquorice root nose with strawberry jam, peppery, cedar aromas and a touch of saddle leather. Full, round, juicy but chunky palate with black cherry, smoky, gamey, tobacco, ash and strawberry jam flavours. A bit rustic and astringent on the finish like most aglianico but offers plenty of fruit and concentration.
