Secco Bertani Valpolicella Valpantena 2008

Veneto, ItalyAfter a disastrous 06 the Secco-Bertani '08 appears back to normal. The blend is a mix of corvina Veronese 70%, rondinella 25% and molinara 5%. Some 75% of the wine is aged in large Slavonian oak casks, 25% in French oak barriques for about 18 months. Expect a sweet, round, smoky savoury fruit nose and palate with a smooth, silky texture and cherry jam flavours. Valpantena is the smallest region in Valpolicella with the coolest, darkest soils.Tasted: 20 September 2011Tasted by: Prices:
