Veneto, ItalyThe '09 appears equal to the very good '08 showing as much sweetness as you could expect from Valpolicella while remaining essentially as dry as any Italian wine can be. The mix of mostly corvina Veronese with rondinella and molinara is typically mostly aged in large Slavonian oak casks - 25 percent spends 18 months in French oak. The attack is soft and round with smoky savoury cherry jam flavours. Grilled vegetables or meats are the match.Tasted: 06 April 2012Tasted by: Prices:
