O. Fournier Urban Red Blend 2009
Valle del Maule, Region del Valle Central, ChileThe all Maule fruit mix is 50/25/20/5 cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot and the secret weapon carignan. The vines are mix of ages from 40 to 100 years old that are cane pruned and get limited flood irrigation. Low-ish yields of 50 hl/ha lead to a wonderful red with an open fresh savoury nose with a touch of fresh oak. Delicious drinking is a fine description of this inexpensive red packed full of plummy savoury dark fruit with bits of liquorice and vanilla. Crazy value in a red blend with style.Tasted: 02 April 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:US | $12.00 | 750ml | srp |
