Babich Gimblett Gravels Hawke's Bay Merlot 2009
Hawkes Bay, North Island, New ZealandFresh aromatic dry earthy nose with bits of black fruit and liquorice. The attack is super dry and the tannins persist drying out the back end of the palate. There is fine weight and perfect merlot texture but it really requires a bit more fruit to be fun to drink. Try it now with lamb or roast beef for best results. Ageing in bottle may allow the fruit component to break through in another year or two.Tasted: 08 April 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $19.00 | 750ml |
