René Rostaing Côte Rôtie Cuvee Terroirs 2008

Côte Rôtie, Northern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceIn 2008 a difficult year saw Rostaing declassify his three Côte Rôtie cuvées into a lighter style Cuvée Terroirs. Look for a peppery, tobacco leaf with curry, meaty, leather, prune, roasted bell pepper and barnyard aromas. Dry, fresh, juicy but austere backward palate. Spicy, savoury, menthol, roasted pepper, meaty, cherry, tobacco leaf, carrot top flavours. Good finesse but very cool fruit with a lot of the herbal side of syrah showing. Needs a bit more time to settle down in bottle but will be ready to drink much earlier than the norm.Tasted: 17 March 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
