Enrique Foster Firmado Malbec 2007

Luján de Cuyo, Northern Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaMade with grapes from two old vineyard sites (1919 and 1966) averaging over 60 years and then a barrel selection. Fermented in oak tanks and aged 15 months in 100% new oak barrels. Look for a spicy, cedar, black cherry jam, coffee nose with vanilla, balsamic, graphite, poultry spice, peppery, garrigue, barnyard aromas. Ripe, round, rich and supple but a bit warm and flat. Lots of spicy, black cherry jam, orange compote, coffee, vanilla, liquorice, tobacco, peppery, savoury flavours. Very smooth, suave and well balanced but could use a bit more acidity to keep the freshness. Steaks?Tasted: 15 February 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
