Bodega Piedra Negra 2008
Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaBig spicy, white pepper, smoky, barnyard, leather and liquorice notes mark the nose with bits of black cherry and savoury, jarilla nose. The attack is supple and dry with medium concentration but good acidity. The palate is awash with smoky, peppery, savoury, cherry, mineral, liquorice and tobacco, leather flavours. A bit warm but with finesse. Needs a few years to round out. A more savoury Euro style. Piedra Negra comes off the Chacayes vineyard in Vista Flores and takes its name from the black stone soils of the nearby Andean foothills.Tasted: 15 February 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:QC | $36.00 | 750ml | |
