Maipú, Northern Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaBig spicy, smoky, peppery, ash, black pepper, black cherry jam, liquorice root, meaty aromas. Dry, full, round, supple tannins but structured if a bit flat. Very oaky, coffee, peppery, licorice root, black berry jam, bit overripe, black cherry, spicy, orange peel, vanilla, Christmas cake and pudding flavours. Very ripe fruit with a hot finish and some youthful tannin. Solid balance but young and astringent with some tannic edges. Needs another two to three years in bottle to mature.
