M. Chapoutier Deschants Saint Joseph Blanc 2009

Saint Joseph, Northern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceHoney, floral, pineapple, quince, pear aromas with a bit of fresh citrus. Very full, round, slightly oily texture but juicy. Spicy, lees, ginger, guava, honey, pineapple, baked pear flavours. A bit warm but has a juicy, elegant, long finish. Wonderful drinking now but will age. Try with Chinese style green onion and ginger crab. The marsanne fruit comes off vineyards surrounding Tournon: Mauves, Saint-Jean de Muzols et Lemps and a Saint-Joseph hillside parcel owned today by Chapoutier and Saint-Épine.Tasted: 28 December 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
