Tilia The Wines of Catena Torrontés 2009
Salta, North, ArgentinaThe Catena folks have a series of labels under the Tilia brand, a nod to the tree commonly found in and around Mendoza whose flowers are used by the locals to make an herbal tea. At the two year mark in bottle under screwcap this Cafayate, Salta-based torrontés is ready to drink. Expect a muscat-y, litchi fruit nose with a touch of citrus oil. The palate is a mix of grapefruit, litchi and green fruit flavours with a touch of rosewater in the finish. A versatile food wine it is also a comfortable fit on the patio.Tasted: 25 November 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:ON | $13.00 | 750ml | LCBO |
