Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalWe love the new 2009 Taylor vintage port with its fragrant, savoury, spicy, tobacco nose flecked with black tea, olive, black plum jam, dried fig and spirity, liquorice root aromas. Still super young it is rich and round with a warm, supple palate but with well-defined tannins in abundance. Mineral, floral, black plum, black cherry jam, dried fig, black tea, licorice, peppery, orange peel, dried lychee flavours swamp your palate. Long, warm, linear, exotic and dried.
