Concha y Toro Winemaker's Lot 148 Peumo Vineyard 2009

Valle del Rapel, Region del Valle Central, ChileBig cedary, minty, sappy cassis, smoky, espresso, tar, spicy, vanilla, meaty, leather aromas. Rich, ripe, round, fresh palate with grainy tannins. Sweet vanilla, espresso oak, peppery, cassis jam, menthol, sappy, tobacco leaf flavours. A bit hot and very oaky but offers full carmenère character at its ripest. Excellent, serious wine with a seriously ridiculous label that looks as if it came off the shelf from Staples.Tasted: 07 November 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
