Bouchard Père & Fils Pommard Rugiens Premier Cru 2008
Pommard, Côte de Beaune, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, FranceA tight, pure offering with smoky, meaty, floral, black cherry, tobacco, liquorice, spicy, gamey, tobacco aromas. Ripe, round, dry, supple and full with some chunky tannin. Cherry jam, peppery, liquorice, spicy, mineral, tobacco, mineral flavours. Full and long with a typical chunkiness that should allow this to improve for at least 3-7 years. Usually prefer the Volnay but in 2008 and 2009, this is a high performer to seriously consider.Tasted: 23 November 2011Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:BC | $82.00 | 750ml | specialty listing |
