St. Clement Vineyards Oroppas 2007

Napa Valley, California, United StatesSt. Clement's flagship red is the Oroppas Cabernet Sauvignon in this case 92 percent with bits of merlot, petit verdot and cabernet franc. The fruit, mostly mountain, is grown off-site at Diamond Mountain, Howell Mountain, Mount Veeder, Rutherford and Spring Mountain. The '07 is a big, rich showy red wine with plenty of rich tannins, dried herbs, liquorice and black fruit flavours with a dollop of French oak. It is built to age but you can drink it now with a T-bone steak but it will be best in a decade.Tasted: 30 October 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
