Mosel, GermanyThe legendary 1920 and 1921 vintages of Prum Wehlener Sonnenhur really made this vineyard's reputation. Wow, this 2009 just pops out of the glass with sensational freshness, ripeness and acidity. So ethereal and according Loosen there has been no vintage like it, i.e. so much ripe fruit and even more acidity. Sonnenhur, the sundial, is a 100 percent south-facing slope of weathered, deep blue slate rich in potassium and now covered in 80-year old vines.
