Côtes du Rhône, Rhone Valley, FranceDefinitely an upgrade since we last tasted the 2004. Expect a warm, rich, meaty, black raspberry jam and liquorice nose flecked with chocolate. The attack is round and generous with more peppery, black raspberry, spicy, liquorice and black fruit flavours all with that undercurrent of garrigue. Fleshier than the previous edition no doubt due to the fine '09 harvest.
