Shingleback Shiraz (White Label) 2007
McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaThe Shingleback Vineyard is in the Willunga Basin at the southern end of McLaren Vale less than 5 kilometers from the ocean. A mix of clones grown on both dark and light soils over limestone leads to a big rich generous red with ripe red and black fruit aromas with floral notes and some obvious minerality. The palate is similar with fairly tight, spicy, resiny black fruit, soft tannins and fresh acidity poking through the back. The classic match is lamb.Tasted: 15 September 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $30.00 | 750ml | specialty listing |
