Young & Wyse Collection Amber 2010
Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAmber mixes viognier, pinot gris and gewürztraminer in search of an aromatic fresh summer sipper style with a bit of weight. It's hard to pick up any single variety so I guess the blend is a success. The palate is warm yet surprisingly skinny and awash in acidity and somewhat sour nectarine skin notes. The direction is great and the styling will appeal to minimalists but this needs some food to calm down the acidity and bitter notes.
