Miopasso Nero d'Avola 2009
Sicily, ItalyMiopasso is the Sicilian version of Veneto's ripasso system. Hence a portion of the néro d'Avola grapes are dried in the sun prior to fermentation and the result is an intense red with a little more richness and complexity. The fruit is plummy and dry with more acidity than you might expect which dries out the finish. Best with rustic southern-style Italian fare.
