Florio Passito di Pantelleria 2008

Sicily, ItalyA delicious drinking dessert wine made from bush trained moscato di Alessandria, also known as zibbibo grown on island of Pantelleria. After the grapes are harvested they are left on the ground to dry in the sun for about 20 days. The shrivelled raisins are eventually pressed and aged first in glass lined vats and then 225-liter fine oak barrels. The wine is golden in colour orange flecks and highly aromatic. The nose is a mix of raisins, figs and apricots with a dusting of vanilla and almonds. Perfect for after dinner with or without cakes or rich peppery cheeses.Tasted: 08 August 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
