Penfolds Koonunga Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
South Australia, AustraliaA relatively new addition to the Koonunga Hill line up the first cab appeared in 2002. The fruit is a mix of Barossa Valley and Langhorne Creek all matured for 15 months in old French and American oak. Expect a classic rendering of cabernet sauvignon with savoury, cedar, cassis fruit with some mid-palate acidity poking through and a black cherry, liquorice finish. A sturdy cab for barbecue duty that is ready to drink. Back ribs would our choice.Tasted: 14 July 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:ON | $17.00 | 750ml | |
