Faustino I Rioja Gran Reserva 1999
Rioja Alavesa, Rioja, SpainLeather, prune, barnyard, smoky nose with meaty, Band-Aid, cedar, cherry jam, soy and liquorice aromas. The attack is dry and supple but slightly lean with light tannins. Cherry jam, prune, spice and leather, coffee flavours with bits of vanilla, cedar, tobacco and olive flavours with some smoky, meaty, barnyard notes on the finish. Good concentration and intensity with less Brett showing than in past vintages. Nearly ready to drink. Try it with turkey.
