Averill Creek Vineyard Prevost 2008

Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaPrevost spends about 11 months in French oak, 25% of it new; the mix is 80% Maréchal Foch, 15% Foch Cabernet and 5% Merlot. Expect a smoky, riparian, spicy, black cherry nose with rooty, menthol, tobacco leaf aromas. The attack is thin, dry, light and tart palate with sour cherry, earthy, leafy, stemmy, smoky flavours. Not much texture or concentration but should be fine with pasta.Tasted: 25 June 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
