Yalumba Cabernet Sauvignon Menzies The Cigar 2006
Coonawarra, South Australia, AustraliaThe original Menzies cabernet plantings were in 1975 with additions in 1994. Cigar was launched to use some of the younger fruit as the brand grows although it is all as they say `small lot` winemaking. Expect a dry firm style red with slightly aggressive cabernet tannins and structure with peppery, black olive, cassis, compost, medicine chest/Coonawarra fruit flavours. The finish is dry with bits of resin, tobacco and black cherries and leather. Prime rib would be a delicious match here.Tasted: 24 May 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:ON | $25.00 | 750ml |
