Chateau Lagrezette 2006

Cahors, Sud-Ouest, FranceThis French version of malbec (87 percent) is blended with a bit of merlot and tannat. The blend is assembled to go the distance, namely two decades or more. The nose is warm and inviting with soft, supple tannin. The palate is dark, the fruit brooding and dense, with some chewy and at this point rustic tannin in the back end but in a strange way it delivers. Try it with powerful, meaty dishes or let age a decade...or two.Tasted: 23 January 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
