Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileAll handpicked in late April the Gran Reserva fruit is from the superior Alto Maipo Valley a sub-appellation Pirque on an 80/20 split of sand and clay. The nose is ripe showing black or blueberry fruit notes with a hint of cloves and cinnamon. Look for black cherry jam flavours, and plentiful but round tannins. The finish is typical Maipo with savoury dried herb notes. Try this with meat or mushroom pasta dishes or grilled chicken.
