Stellenbosch, Coastal Region, South AfricaA single-vineyard viognier from the home property on the Helderberg Mountain in Stellenbosch. A textbook vintage has produced a delicate, barrel-fermented viognier matured in mostly 2nd and 3rd fill oak barrels. Expect a peachy apricot nose with plenty of fresh mineral/leesy dusted fruit. The textures are plush and mouth filling but not overbearing. Definitely leaning toward the northern Rhone but at a bargain price.
