Chateau du Trignon Sablet 2005
Sablet, Côtes du Rhône Villages, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceSablet is hardly a household Côtes du Rhone village but the town sits between the more famous sites at Gigondas and Rasteau. The wine has a definite spicy liquorice mineral note on the nose and palate with bits of pepper and garrigue or dried herbs. Ageing takes place in a mix of old foudres and concrete vats which explains fruity earthy finish. Try this with duck or rabbit.
