Luna Beberide Mencia 2007
Bierzo, Castilla-Leon, SpainThe recent scandal in the Languedoc, where the French shouldn't even be making pinot noir, can only help the future of authentic wines like this delicious mencia. The nose is a touch reductive so be sure to air this one out for 30 minutes but then be prepared for a delicious drop of red wine that focuses on minerality, earth and liquorice with just a dusting of red fruits. Soft supple delicious red wine ready for food. Impressive effort. And it will improve in bottle for the next three years.Tasted: 24 February 2010Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $17.00 | 750ml | specialty listing |
