Veneto, ItalySecco-Bertani has been cranking out wine for 125 years and is said to be the "grandfather" of the ripasso-technique where the must is left to rest for a few days each spring on the freshly-drawn lees from the Recioto Amarone. The blend is alight coloured mix of corvina Veronese 70%, rondinella 25% and molinara 5%. Some 75% of the wine is aged in large Slavonian oak casks, 25% in French oak barriques for about 18 months. Much like the last edition there is a smoky savoury mushroom undertone with a "sweet" silky texture and spicy floral, mushroom cherry jam flavours.
