Salento, Puglia, ItalySmoky, meaty, peppery, gamey, black licorice, black cherry, tobacco, leather, earthy, vanilla, plum aromas with a floral hint. Rich, round, dry and supple but slightly tannic with good acidity balance. Meaty, gamey, black cherry, black plum, licorice root, resin, vanilla, peppery, tobacco, and tapenade flavours. A bit rustic but has good fruit and balance. Try with grilled beef or lamb or a hearty stew. A good varietal example with some complexity.Masseria Maime is an estate selection of negroamaro that is aged 14 months in barriques and another 10 months in bottle before release.
