Champagne Deutz Brut Classic NV

Champagne, FranceSince 1838 Deutz has been based in the Grand Cru village of Ay, just west of Epernay. In 1983 the Rouzaud family, owners of Louis Roederer, purchased Deutz. The Brut Classic contains 25 percent reserves and one third each of chardonnay/pinot meunier/pinot noir, 9 g/l dosage. Riffing white cherry, biscuit, red liquorice, red apple, herbal honey, on a rustic, grippy palate. Lees is evident, but rather than smoothing out the palate, roughs it up. This bottle is certainly one that welcomes pairing: poultry pot pie, white fish / shellfish stew, vegetable risotto.Tasted: 09 December 2017Tasted by: Prices:
