Yalumba The Octavius Edition XV 2004

Barossa Valley, South Australia, AustraliaHandpicked and crushed in 8 tonne open top stainless steel fermenters, The Octavius is an all Barossa, (70-100 years) fruit affair in 2004. It is also the first year of less new American oak and some French oak tow actions that are a fine improvement. Less oak lest the big glossy black fruit of Barossa get through but with a savoury, spicy smoky edge. The finish is complex mixing coffee, resin, spice and juicy fruit. Impressive vibrant intense style.Tasted: 09 November 2009Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
