Chateau Montrose 2006

St. Estèphe, Haut-Médoc, Médoc, Bordeaux, FranceNew management has increased the merlot content. Spicy, cassis, coffee, dill, plum, tobacco, weedy, black olive, barnyard, briny aromas with an earthy, floral note. Round, dry, slightly tart and fresh palate with elegance and more supple tannins. Cassis, smoky, black olive, plum, dill, coffee, vanilla, tobacco leaf flavours. Good freshness and finesse but not long for aging and not the classic style for this chateau.Tasted: 28 October 2009Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
