Chateau Lafite Rothschild 2006
Pauillac, Haut-Médoc, Médoc, Bordeaux, FranceSpicy, peppery, saddle leather, waxy, vanilla, black olive, smoky, licorice, tobacco, coffee, lifted nose. Dry, tight, tannic and elegant but somewhat hollow at this point. The palate is marked with oaky vanilla, peppery, cassis and coffee flavours with bits of tobacco, black olive and cedar flavours. Dry, tight and elegant, and somewhat oaky, this offers pure Pauillac but it lacks the necessary stuffing and balance to justify a $900 Canadian price tag. Maximum of 7-12 years. More of a wine required for future verticals than something for the cellar. Only for the rich and famous and make no mistake they will buy it.Tasted: 28 October 2009Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $899.00 | 750ml |
