Yalumba The Octavius Edition XVI 2005
Barossa Valley, South Australia, AustraliaHand-picked and crushed in 8 tonne, open top stainless steel fermenters. Look for spicy, peppery, floral, blueberry, coffee aromas with vanilla, clove and licorice root. Rich, round, dry and supple its full-bodied and oaky but with style, fresh acidity and huge sweet blueberry and black cherry jam with pepper, cola, milk chocolate and minty, licorice flavours in the back end. Great fruit intensity but with finesse despite the oak and warm, tart finish. Very long and almost juicy with a glossy, creamy texture. Keep this through 2015 or serve wit with a leg of lamb.Tasted: 17 September 2009Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $110.00 | 750ml | specialty listing |
