First XI Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Clare Valley, South Australia, AustraliaThe First XI is a nod to Australia's top cricket squad and its eleven man sides. The best of the best means First XI is only produced in exceptional years - this '05 is the first cabernet released since the inaugural 2000 vintage. Cedar, tobacco, cranberries and cloves mark the nose of this expressive red. The mid-palte is soft and seamless with dried herbs, liquorice, black cherry and cassis. The wine spends one year in American oak of which one third is new.Tasted: 13 September 2009Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
