Coronato 2006

Bolgheri, Tuscany, ItalyCoronato falls under the BIsnerno banner but hails form south of Bibbona from the Bolgheri estate: Tenuta I Pianali. The blend 40/25/25/10 contains slightly more cabernet sauvignon than cabernet franc and merlot followed by petit verdot. The fruit is picked over 30 days giving the wine its signature savoury warm Mediterranean nose. Look for quite a weighty, round red with well chiselled fruit and a savoury, spicy, cassis flavoured underbelly. Silky smooth and interesting from start to finish.Tasted: 23 September 2009Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
