Vibo Malbec 2007
Mendoza, ArgentinaOn the Chilean side of the Andes, Viu Manent winery has always managed to make a glossy supple sweet fruit style of malbec in Colchagua but this Argentine venture from the Uco valley is a step up. The high-altitude version comes with more amplitude. Look for a big fresh red with gobs of black peppery fruit, sweet vanilla, pepper, alcohol and fine acidity. Big and slick it's a glossy version that will attract a crowd.Tasted: 15 August 2009Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:US | $40.00 | 750ml | estimated retail |
