Catena Zapata Malbec 2005

Mendoza, ArgentinaSpicy, smoky, meaty, resin, barnyard, saddle leather, floral, black cherry, tobacco ash, coffee and chocolate aromas. Rich, ripe, fat, big concentration and somewhat tannic and warm with black cherry jam, smoky, spicy, violet, mineral ash, tobacco, allspice that finishes with liquorice, vanilla and coffee flavours flecked with dried herbs and plum. Fine intensity and long but a bit tannic and angular now. Needs 5-7 years to settle down and show its pedigree.Tasted: 26 June 2009Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
