Carabas Baron Philippe de Rothschild 2006
FranceA quasi southern French blend that mixes syrah and grenache as you might expect with malbec, cabernet sauvignon and merlot as you might not expect. The wine is soft and round with plummy chocolate blueberry/black fruit notes with bits of liquorice and that savoury garrigue that so marks the terroir of the Languedoc. A solid if a bit blocky red that finished warm.
