Champagne, FranceChampagne Pommery began in 1836, and this flagship Brut Royal has been produced since 1874, said to be the first Brut released at that time. This is 1/3 each Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, from 40 villages (95% 1er or GC fruit). It spent 3 years sur lattes and was disgorged with 10 g/L. Red apple, toast rule the creamy palate, with some bruised florals, meringue, and pear on the briefer finish. The higher dosage makes this very friendly, but takes away its appealing edge. Toasting-ready.Tasted: 18 November 2022Tasted by: Prices:
